Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and SettleWell Ltd ("SettleWell," "we," "us," or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17333474), registered office Bartle House, 9 Oxford Court, Manchester, England, M2 3WQ. They govern your use of our website and apps and our related services (the "Service").
When you create an account we ask you to agree to these Terms, and we record the version you accepted and when. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Please read the sections on "Not legal or immigration advice" and "Disclaimers and liability" carefully. They are important and they limit our responsibility to you.
1. Who can use SettleWell
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. By using SettleWell you confirm that you meet these requirements. Where you add information about a dependent or family member, you confirm you are entitled to provide it.
2. What SettleWell is
SettleWell helps you understand where you stand on your UK immigration journey. It provides information, personalised timelines, absence tracking, readiness views, alerts, and AI-assisted guidance grounded in published sources such as GOV.UK.
SettleWell is an information and planning tool. It is not a law firm, not an immigration adviser, and does not submit applications on your behalf.
3. Not legal or immigration advice
This is the most important thing to understand about the Service.
- SettleWell provides general information and guidance only. It does not provide legal advice or regulated immigration advice, and using it does not create a lawyer–client or adviser–client relationship.
- UK immigration advice is regulated. For advice about your specific situation, you should consult an adviser regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) or a qualified solicitor.
- Immigration rules change, often at short notice, and how they apply depends on your individual circumstances. We do not guarantee that information on the Service is complete, current, or applicable to you.
- You are responsible for your own immigration decisions. Always verify important information against GOV.UK and, where it matters, with a regulated adviser before acting. Do not rely on the Service as your only source for a decision that affects your status.
4. Your account
You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your login details secure, and for activity under your account. Please give accurate information and keep it up to date. The quality of your guidance depends on it. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the information and messages you put into the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, secure, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. To answer your questions, the Ask feature sends your message and relevant journey context to our AI providers. We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not reuse it for general product research unless you separately choose to share a specific conversation with us for that purpose.
6. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Some features require a paid subscription ("Plus"). Current prices and what each plan includes are shown on our pricing page.
- Billing. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our payment provider. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the applicable fee for each billing period until you cancel.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of your current paid period.
- Cooling-off period. As a consumer, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase for a refund. Because the Service is digital content supplied immediately, if you ask us to start providing paid features straight away and acknowledge that you will lose your cancellation right once we do, you agree that the 14-day right no longer applies once access begins. This does not affect your statutory rights if the Service is faulty.
- Price changes. We may change prices. We will give you reasonable advance notice, and changes will apply from your next billing period. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend paid features until payment is resolved.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service unlawfully or for anything other than managing an immigration journey;
- provide information you are not entitled to provide, or impersonate anyone;
- attempt to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
- resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission; or
- misuse the AI features (for example, to extract our prompts, or to generate unlawful content).
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, content, and branding, belongs to SettleWell or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own immigration journey in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service except as these Terms allow.
9. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on third-party providers (for hosting, payments, email, analytics, and AI) and may link to third-party sites such as GOV.UK. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites. Your use of third-party services may be governed by their own terms.
10. Availability
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, and will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.
11. Disclaimers and liability
Disclaimers. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the information provided is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your particular circumstances. The Service is a planning aid, not a substitute for regulated advice (see section 3).
Nothing we exclude affects your statutory rights. As a consumer you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including that digital services be provided with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes those rights.
What we do not exclude. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
What we limit. Subject to the above, we are not liable for:
- any loss arising from your reliance on information in the Service where you have not verified it with GOV.UK or a regulated adviser;
- indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, opportunity, or data; and
- immigration outcomes, decisions, refusals, delays, or costs; these depend on the Home Office and your individual circumstances, which are outside our control.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) £50.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to us. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability) will continue to apply. You can export your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when they were last revised. For minor changes, we'll post the updated Terms here. For material changes, we'll bring them to your attention and ask you to agree before you continue using the Service. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service and cancel any subscription.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, although if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing here affects your rights as a consumer to rely on mandatory provisions of the law where you live.
